The Department of Law and Security continues to expand! Exciting work is currently underway to strengthen the authority's legal work, all aimed at adapting and further developing the operations to meet the needs that will exist in the Authority for Civil Defense. We are therefore looking for a qualified administrative lawyer who can support the operations in this.

Your responsibilities and tasks

The current position is located at Legal Unit 1 in the Department of Law and Security. Here you will primarily work with legal issues related to the authority's administration, including areas such as public access and confidentiality, security protection, procurement and contract law, competition law, and GDPR. The tasks are characterized by the authority's work on developing the capabilities of civil defense, particularly in matters concerning supply preparedness.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for someone who has:

• Law degree or equivalent (180 credits/270 ECTS)
• At least five years of experience in qualified legal work at a government authority
• Several years of experience in one or more of the legal areas for which the unit is responsible
• Very good stylistic ability
• Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience working within the Government Offices or from administrative courts
• Experience from higher courts
• Familiarity with legislative work or drafting regulations

In addition to the above competence requirements, your personal qualities are crucial for the appointment. It is essential that you have a very good ability to communicate, collaborate, and take initiative. As a person, you should be perceived as unpretentious and accessible without compromising your professional integrity. You also need to be independent, flexible, and have a genuine interest in collaborating with other professions.

The Authority for Civil Defense is an authority that must have the ability to handle crises of various kinds, and it is therefore important that you can operate even under time pressure and in unforeseen and disrupted conditions.

About the employment

We offer you a permanent full-time position that begins with a probationary period.

Your place of employment will be Karlstad or Stockholm, and travel may occur in the position.

The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. When placed in a security class, a security review with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Authority for Civil Defense are designated for war.

About us

The Department of Law and Security is led by the authority's chief lawyer/security protection manager and consists of a total of about sixty employees divided into four units and a staff support to the department management. We are located in both Karlstad and Stockholm.
